Hobart Queer and Lesbian Choir is a small group of committed young lesbian and pansexual people with a proud history of community engagement, determined to make a difference in our area.
They are all involved in Lesbian and Trans rights advocacy and participate in Queer sporting groups and their initiatives, however, as a regional area, Hobart is sorely lacking in accessible Arts initiatives for lesbians and other Queer people.
With the Lesbians Inc grant, they will begin a community pride choir to significantly increase the reach of Hobart’s Queer community network and bring social and mental health benefits to all. The choir will run for one hour each fortnight from a local community hall in Hobart’s inner-North to ensure it is accessible to as many people as possible.
Hobart Queer and Lesbian Choir will be open to all Queer people and their allies, and represent a place to not only celebrate but also explore community.
