LInc Recipient Spotlight – DocDir

LInc Spotlight

DocDir received a grant from Lesbians Incorporated in round two of 2019 for the DocDir project, an online directory of LGBTIQ+ inclusive health services. The grant will enable DocDir to collect information at community events, help recruit a community consultation group for ongoing improvements to the site and gain recognition among the LGBTIQ+ community.

DocDir is working to make healthcare better for the LGBTIQ community with their online directory of doctors who are LGBTIQ+ friendly and provide LGBTIQ+ affirmative and responsive care for the community. DocDir is a searchable map-based online directory of LGBTIQ+ friendly health services in Australia.

DocDir aim to map out all the doctors that are recommended by LGBTIQ+ people as being safe to attend and will need your help to achieve this; a directory of doctors that will be created by the community, for the community.

DocDir will have volunteers collecting information at:  Better Together Conference and Midsumma in Melbourne in January, Gaytimes Festival in Gembrook, VIC (14-16 February), ChillOut Festival in Daylesford, VIC (5-9 March), and LGBTIQ Women’s Health Conference in Sydney (4-5 June).  Check out the DocDir website to sign up to receive updates and get more information.
