Wendybird Connects
Wendybird is a not-for-profit community group led by a collective of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer (LGBTIQ) people who are working together to intentionally grow a safer and always supportive community for people of diverse bodies, genders, relationships and sexualities, their friends, families and children to find meaningful connections.
Their program Wendybird Connects is a social group for the LGBTIQ+ community based Melbourne. They received a grant from Lesbians Incorporated to help with the running cost of hosting the events and to provide opportunities for people to: connect, learn, play, create, educate, share, grow and achieve.
Wendybird creates a grass roots approach to community development. Wendybird acts as a conduit for connection, acceptance and belonging resulting in improved mental health and reduced incidence of suicidality among peers.
COVID UPDATE: (April 2020)
Due to the social distancing restrictions Wendybird moved their meeting online. You can now join them virtually through Zoom and find out more information and dates on their Facebook page.

– Saturday 20th June, 1pm to 2.30pm
– Saturday 4th July, 1pm to 2.30pm

You just need a device, the internet and a web browser, no need to download anything! If you are using your phone, to not use your data make sure you are connected to WiFi
The same as our in-person events, this online space are a safer and all inclusive event for all of our LGBTIQ+ communities. If you’re looking for a friendly space to meet new friends, then Wendybird is the place for you!
