
Lesbians Incorporated provides financial backing to lesbians and lesbian-friendly groups in Australia. This post aims to shine a light on our past grant recipients and share their success stories. All current grant applications are closed and recipients of round 2 grants will be announced in November 2019.
Moonlight Cowboys Present received a grant in round one of 2019 to support Queer Saloon at Cafe Gummo in Thornbury (VIC).
The Saddle Qlub is a monthly inclusive music and performing arts event supporting lesbians, queer women, and GNC people within the LGBTQIA+ community to socialise with the purpose of building networks and stronger communities within the inner north of Melbourne. Hosted by The Moonlight Cowboys (Bam Bam and Mahla Bird) it takes the format of a Sunday afternoon social event held at Cafe Gummo Live music with cabaret and circus performances will be held at intervals throughout the afternoon and early evening. Performances with feature high caliber local and interstate acts, with an emphasis on supporting queer women, QTPOC, and emerging artists to showcase their work in a supportive environment. By hosting a mix of both established and emerging artists, this platform will support cross networking among artists and industry professionals, encouraging collaboration and growth within the queer and lesbian performance communities. For audiences, this event will provide exposure to and engagement with lesbian and queer art, and a supportive, inclusive space to socialise and foster stronger relationships.
